Keto Dieting – How to Stay in Ketosis
When you’re trying to get into ketosis, there are certain herbs, vegetables and recipes that will help. These foods help make the diet more palatable, so it’s easier to stick with it.
You also need to figure out how many carbs you can have. Everyone’s body is different. Some can go up to 40 grams of carbs and still enter ketosis, but others need to be much lower for optimal results. Having a clear idea of how low to keep your carbs will help you track and stay on target.
Another great way to stay on target is keeping a pantry and fridge stocked with Keto-friendly foods. This will stop you from getting swayed to grab the Oreos and Cheetos at the grocery store when you’re hungry. Try bulk buying your favorite meats (ground beef, wings, rotisserie chicken) and freezing them for easy access. Stock up on fats as well (butter, cheese, mayo). Frozen avocado chunks work well as a base for smoothies, and dark berries can be used as flavored ice cubes in drinks.
Avoid processed foods and sugary beverages when possible, too. Those can add up quickly and kick you out of ketosis. Make sure you read labels and check ingredients if you can’t find a Keto-friendly version of something. This is especially important if you’re new to the keto diet or have health conditions like thyroid issues or gallbladder problems. Drinking plenty of water and replenishing electrolytes is also important when you’re in ketosis.
